Tormented by ourselves,
We're trapped in our complacency,
Just when we're through,
It's not even close to over,
Pull you excuses along with you,
They're heavier than you know,
Crying on the floor,
Cause it's the only one who’s heard your story,
Fall to your bed side,
Cause it's the only one who has comforted you
Nothing can help if you're not willing,
You've fantasized your self free,
And fallen when the truth comes crashing down,
How good it felt to be free,
All the world could be yours,
But you're stuck,
Your hand gripping what it thinks it needs,
Drive as far as you can from home,
Yet the story you've written will stay,
You can find guilt anywhere,
But finding yourself will lift the burdens,
There's a light,
But you put a sheet over it and walked away,
Trace your steps back,
Uncover the treasure,
That pays for the condemnation
