pots and pans

She looked out the window,
Staring at the night sky,
A blue dress,
To compliment dreams of freedom,
I had seen her times before,
Yet never used a word,
I've been walking in the dark,
When I turned on the light,
My shadow was gone,
Something you don't notice,
While your head's in the clouds,
Well it found it's way to you,
So I thought,
Let's run with the others,
Never thinking of home,
And thinking of our future,
Never changing the scenery,
Tree tops serve as our home,
Hearing cannons from the ships at sea,
Hiding anything special in the knotholes of trees,
Foxes and raccoons our friends,
I have everything I need,
As long as your by my side,
We'll be greeted by the waves of the ocean,
And the brightest sunrise you'll ever see,
If caught by hooks or hulls,
I'll always come back for you,
Once free we'll watch time float away,
And drift to the bottom of the sea,
Carrying our worries away,
Referring to our future as the present,
We're free you and I,
The world can't hold us down,
I thought of all we could do,
I dreamt of sitting on clock towers,
Holding hands seeing the city far below,
And then it was time,
To take you home,
It was a night I won't soon forget

Rolling wheels and parking lots

I saw the birds fly overhead,
For what felt like hours,
Spring was closer to coming again,
But I heard of a garden...
Who's flowers were brilliant,
No weeds could be found,
The envy of others,
But the owner was proud,
The care was mundane,
And the reward so bright,
So I walked around,
And I sat through the night.

I can hear wings,
From the bees up above,
The sidewalk has faded but I'll find where it was,
My mind is tired from picturing again,
So I move even faster, to where I've been never been,
Rolling wheels and parking lots,
The city never sleeps, but the traffic stops,
Meeting places filled with empty faces,
I hope you've seen what I've been looking for.

I crept into my room,
As if I was a thief,
I never spoke of this venture,
My dreams were put to sleep,
I knew I'd have to wait for this chance again,
But that was ok,
I had pictures to keep me company,

I can hear wings,
From the bees up above,
The sidewalk has faded but I'll find where it was,
My mind is tired of imagining once again,
So I move even faster, to where I've been never been,
Rolling wheels and parking lots,
Every car looks the same,
But each person is not,
Seven minutes never passed,
Like they did that day,
But tomorrow was better,
I didn't leave empty,

After it was over,
I left with fear,
But I was filled with joy,
Although the night was approaching
The sun was still shining on me,

I can hear wings,
From the bees up above,
The sidewalk has faded but I'll find where it was,
My mind is tired from imagining you,
So I move even faster, to where I've been never been,
Rolling wheels and parking lots,
I found you at last,
And it was more than enough,
Months will pass by,
I'll wait for you again,
But I'll be back,
You just have to say when

Concert

From outside you could tell,
No one was prepared,
Each musician talked of their great knowledge,
But all we could hear was their haste,
Every one looked at the parts no more than once,
They all said it was elementary,
But what the audience heard was childish.
When it was over the crowd withered fast,
And the orchestra stayed for hours,
Each one angered with how they played,
Although, not one claimed fault for themselves,
Accusations were louder than anyone's confidence.
Everyone knew they were to blame,
Yet, nobody showed guilt.
When all were home,
They had the same intensions,
Compensate for the amateur act,
But everyone knew it was too late.
This was the thorn that would stay buried,
But months later, you could never tell it was there

Forests

I was walking through the woods,
And I saw fields of trees,
So many were withering,
but a few were living,
Then I stopped at one,
It was so full of life!
Set apart from the rest.
When the sun would shine,
It's leaves were such a radiant maroon,
And they looked so luminous waving in the sun,
These leaves were so full,
They provided more than shade,
They brought comfort and peace.
When i saw the wood of this tree
I noticed it was so small,
It seemed it would snap in a storm,
but i was wrong,
It's wood was dense!
And it's roots were so far below!
This tree would stand tall against the rest,
even though it was so small,
When it's fruit ripened,
O if i could express my love of it's fruit!
It's taste was  sweet,
So filling and satisfying.
If only i could keep this tree,
Call it my own!
I would proudly display it,
For anyone passing by.
I thought,
Surely this tree has been in different sun,
It's soil must be rich,
And it's water so pure.
Then I observed it's base,
I know of no better foundation!
It was rooted within a rock,
holding it tightly in place,
And when I had gone home,
When I came out of the forest,
I couldn't wait for the next day,
To revel again in God's creation

seeds in the wind

I took a walk outside to see the sunlight,
everyone says the sun exists only in the day
but what's reflecting from the moon?
when living in a world of appearance
they miss the answers hidden from sight
and while piecing together the mysteries
I only ask more questions
now I'm an optimist but I need a relief
how much knowledge does anyone need to know?
we know enough to have a future at the end.
as I read deeper into this portrait
man and woman with love in each others eyes
I feel sorrow for the other man hidden in the crowd
who looks at her with the same love
the one who she swore she loved, attracting the other
she always has a plan and she always gets her way
so I ask what defines a flower from a weed?
everyone has the same dream
some just have more power
